Linguaficient is a Latina-owned company based in San Francisco. Our principals have a combined 25 years of experience working in language services.
Anabelle earned a Bachelor’s in Journalism from the University of Texas-Arlington and a Spanish and English Legal Interpretation Certificate from San Francisco State University. Her skills as a language professional have led her to work with a variety of clients and topics, from community grass-roots organizations dedicated to advocating for parents, workers and tenants to interpreting for unaccompanied youth for asylum and immigration cases. She is an interpreter and translator at the San Francisco Unified School District and a California Court Certified Interpreter.
Anabelle previously worked for the California Federation of Interpreters, where she worked to advance working conditions for court interpreters. She began her career as a reporter and editor for The Associated Press, covering breaking news and immigration in English and Spanish.
Andrea earned a degree in Simultaneous Interpretation from Instituto Superior de Intérpretes y Traductores in Mexico City, and a Spanish and English Legal Interpretation Certificate from San Francisco State University.
She acquired hands-on experience in journalism while working as a translator, interpreter and writer at Mission Local, one of the main local news websites in San Francisco.
She has also worked as a community interpreter in different settings, from grassroots organizations dedicated to advancing protections for tenants, immigrants and other vulnerable populations to working as a linguist for voice-assisted applications and as a localization expert for some of the major global companies in Silicon Valley’s tech industry.
